K, this is one of my Pottery Barn outlet buys from about 5 years ago, the coffe table, not the TV!

I am fortunate to have a brother who lives about 30 minutes from a PB outlet.  He has always been the lucky one! Although, I did drive 5 hours to get this along with several other pieces of furniture I got a real deal on it, if you don't count the gas $, it was only 35$!

This is the one that is still in the catalouge for 299$.  Please find the nearest PB outlet to you today and plan a trip IT IS worth it! k, back to my post, so when we purchased this it had a few scratches on it, no big deal. But, after 2 kids and a couple of TVs on it, you can say a lot of scratches! So, after purchasing my Rug(s) I wanted the coffe table back in the LR. WARNING! DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!!!

UNLESS, you don't have any sandpaper and you are extremely impatient and your husband is watching the Olympics and you don't want to ask him to make a run to WM for you!!!

So, after the first swipe with this power tool, I thought I had made a HUGE mistake! But, what did have to lose. I had only spent 35$ and it was all scratched up anyway! So, I continued on, and then proceeded to  paint!

At some point I had thought to myself... maybe you can sand something TOO much!!!

And keep in mind I shopped the house for accessories! They won't be staying long.(I hope).  Anyway the paint was soaking in alot and as I stepped back I was kinda liking the wood grain showing!  Although, it needs a rub down with some fine sandpaper and prob another coat of paint, I couldn't wait to post this since it was pretty close to done!

P.S.... didn't see the B-Ball until I uploaded, please ignore!!!

Thanks ; )

  8. I would have missed the basketball if you hadn't said something. :) I'm trying to think if there's even a Pottery Barn around here. I like the look of the painted table!

  9. A happy mistake- I think it turned out great! You can sand something too much, but only if you start making the surface uneven. ;) Otherwise, primer and paint will cover it.

Thank you so much for linking up with the Talented Tuesday link party at My Frugal Family, which is hosted every Tuesday. Please feel free to stop back in every week and post your newest projects!

  10. I think it looks fantastic! When I saw the belt sander on the table, I said, "uh oh!" I have done the exact same thing! Those things are too powerful for some projects, aren't they! But, you did a great job! I love when an oops becomes a favorite. Good job!

  16. Looks great!

I just wanted to check that the TV is strapped to the wall. A friend of mine nearly lost her daughter recently when she pulled a dresser down over her. She didn't thing the toddler was big enough to pull it down, and had the dresser not fell against the side of the bed, she would have been crushed. I'm extra cautious about it now!

  21. Love the white paint. I too am a lover of sanding and have often wondered if one can sand something too much. The thought was quick lived-cause I still sand the heck out of stuff! Great, clean look!

  27. I love it! Maybe a coat of smoke glaze wiped on and off would be a nice touch? It's beautiful as is though. And that basketball in the pic makes your house a home. :)
