Candle-light dinner for 4

For the last 3 years my family has had a candle-light dinner on V-day, we started it because we wanted to share this day with our daughter too.  My husband and I realized we can go out just the 2 of us anytime and usually V-day falls on an off night and the restaraunts are packed anyway! That was one of the best V-days we ever had and my daughter now looks forward to it every year ALMOST as much as Christmas!

K and I prepare the meal for daddy and her brother together which is some sweet time I get with her all to myself.

We even get out the good crystal glasses from our wedding and buy some sparkling Grape juice.

This pic is obviously from last year, but I wanted to share this BEFORE V-day incase anyone out there thought they might want to do this, THIS YEAR!  It is one of  those traditions we really look forward to and is really no extra work.... I was going to make dinner anyway. Plus this is something the kids remember more than a box of chocolates and a stuffed animal ( that eventually gets thrown away) SHHHH don't tell the kids.

So far every year the menu has been Italian (it just says romance to me ) and I found this pic at Family Fun and decided this would be awesome for the kids this year.

And then OF COURSE we will be eating some V-day doughnuts from KK for dessert (how cute are these).....

And when you buy a dozen they come with 12 SUPER cute V-day cards and on the back is a coupon for 1 free doughnut of your choice, which I will be attaching to....

these adorable Crispy Kisses I am making for my daughters Kindergarten class.  I found these at Meridian Magazine online.  I know the tradition is to spend V-day with your TRUE LOVE and we do,  and the little true loves that surround us too!  Besides J and I know that we will all to soon be having a candle-light dinner for 2,  and we want to give our children a special V-day while they will still enjoy spending it with us! They grow up way too fast!

What a great tradition! I'm trying to think up something to include our daughter this year as she is at the age (4) where she really is aware of this kind of thing. Thanks for the ideas!

New to your blog... What a great looking family! We, too, will be celebrating V-day as a family again this year. Last year's table is my header this year, I'll post about this year's table on Susan' Met Monday on Sunday night, V-day.

I love family pics on V-day... Thanks for all the cute tips!
