Re-do of a Re-do

Remember this?  Maybe not its from and older post.  I purchased this table from my local habitat store and painted it black.  O yes spray painted it, IN MY HOUSE!  Which I do not recommend!  I was cleaning it up for days! Although, it all did come up thanks to the handy dandy MAGIC ERASER!

So, I had some material that, at the time, matched my living room and used it to put a skirt underneath as a side table by my couch.

So it looked like this. And now that I have changed my color scheme in that room, I moved it to my bedroom. And it is much better in there as a nightstand. But the colors did not go!

And remember my FREE chair and pillow covers... Well I was looking for some material similar to this and came across it at WAL-MART! Surprisingly they have several colors not just black.

O yes and it was only around 4$ a yard too! SWEET!

And since the chair and the nightstand are on the opposite sides of the rooms the material matches close enough! Not perfect, but since I'm not inviting Candice Olson over anytime soon I think it will do! Especially for 4$.  O and that is the 14.99 Lamp I purchased at HL complete with light bulbs! 80% off BABY!

And its great for STORAGE.  Especially, for folding up and putting (in a basket) my 10 year old blankie I can't live without at night.  It is not a pretty sight to behold, but O so COMFY!

Making the most out of Monday

I love presidents day, because there was no school and I got to SLEEP IN and my friend Sarah and I decided it would be a good idea to get the kiddos together and let them play.  The kiddos played and then so did we.  While we were out we decided to go to GW and our local Habitat Store.

I got this BEAUT at the Habitat Store for 5 buckeroos which I will be hanging in my my breakfast nook and.....

Ok I was most excited about this, because I do not sew, but my mom does and Sarah's daughter and my daughter and my sister's daughter will be fairy's in a garden themed wedding this summer and my mom of course will be making the dresses.  This pattern first of all was in their size WHICH WAS AMAZING  and it was ONLY 25 cents!!!! (we opened it and it had never been used) I called mom immediatley. I could tell she was swinging from the chandelier! So then Sarah and I went to GW and found NOTHING!!!

Sometimes that happens you know? The kiddos were more than ready for a nap, so we parted ways and I went to Hobby Lobby (screaming kids and all) and found these.....

This wall hanging bird cage for 12 bucks!

Then I headed over to the 80% off section and got these cuties for 3.80 a piece! And the piece to RESISTAAANNSSS....

This Lamp for 14.00 also in the 80% off section it came with all you see, includin' the lightbulbs!!!

Sometimes the Thrift stores aren't the only places you can score a BARGAIN!!! Just wanted to give the shout out to HL's 80% off section incase you need to make the most out of TUESDAY!

Peapod Green chalkboard nightstand

This nightstand was FREE once again from MOM....I heart her mucho too! She has said I could take this from her for probably over a year, she has had it for more than a decade (it was her mothers) out in her garage, and so I finally took her up on it.

I have a soon to be 6 year old and she is VERY into American Girl sutff, which is taking over.  I tell my hubs all the time that they need a room of their own.

Not sure you can tell but this has a  very big deep drawer and it is great for storage, which I am needing desperately these days.

This is what I used for the top it is tintable chalkboard paint which I have used berfore in my kitchen, just a different color.  The only place I have seen it is Home Depot.

This peapod color just happened to match my daughters bedding perfect!!! I spared you the picture of my happy dance I did!

Add in some white paint and some cute pink knobs I got at Target and this is what you get!

Oh and some CHALK and a  2 year old and this is what you get!

And Mom had a great idea of adding the clock, its a good way for K to understand what time she will be waking up each morning.  Thanks mom for the table and the clock idea...I'm glad you don't have your own blog....you would have to keep these ideas and stuff for yourself!!!

Overall I was pleased with the results and so was my daughter. The hubs who has jokingly called me a HOARDER lately even said it looked GREAT!  Thanks BABE!

My Idea of a List

The other day I was on Nesting Place along with the other 3,000 people who follower her and after some inspiration I was planning on making a trip to Goodwill and Home Goods....and I don't know about you but I try to remember and even write down all of the awesome ideas I see on blogs and websites so I can remember while I am shopping,  but with all the other things in the store (and the two and five year old at my side) surrounding me I sometimes become overwhelmed and can't remember what I was even going for!  So the other day I got my phone out and decided to take a pic of the blog and the inspiration that made me want to go looking for this stuff in the first place.  In doing so I thought I would share a pretty nifty idea that has helped me~Happy Thrifting/Shopping with your picture list!

This is my first official "blogged" about thrift store find....I am pretty sure this was homemade but it was cheap 20$  and fit this space perfectly it just needed a little help and a lot of spray paint, which by the way I do not recommend using in your kitchen or in your  house at all but I am impatient and it is 24 degrees outside, Brrrrr!
I just used some left over fabric that are really curtain panels from Wal-Mart and staple gunned them underneath and Wallah....Thankfully the bottom and sides were already hemmed for me~This really would be a better night stand but for now it will do in the Living room.
